To show Ujamaa's commitment to unity in the African Nova Scotian community we illustrated an Acacia tree and it's root system. The idea is that many roots come together to form one powerful tree. The Acacia tree is commonly found in Tanzania which is also the place where the principles of Ujamaa originated.
